Take Me Home Country Roads

THE LONG WALK -  DAY SEVEN

Champagne Reception At Mow Cop Castle

Various hesitations, deviations and repetitions made this a very long and muddy last day. However, on the top of The Cloud, we were met by 3 members from Crewe bearing chocolate bars, and waiting for us in Timbersbrook was Jane O from Stafford. Their company lifted our spirits for the final few miles to Mow Cop, where surprise! surprise! we rounded the corner to a Congratulations banner, made by Jenny, and applause. Trevor, a walker's huband, presented us with medals, and it turned out to be a champagne reception too, as Dave, another walker's husband came up from the car park with bubbly and crystal glasses. A very special memory and a wonderful end to a wonderful walk.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone who walked and/or supported the walkers.

Fuller reports and photos for Days 5, 6 and 7 to follow.
