Just Walking in the Rain

THE LONG WALK - DAY SIX

Rain, Mud, More Rain, More Mud

Rain all day today except in the cosy Black Lion. Up the valley and through the woods, then back down to follow the Churnet through muddy fields. Through Kingsley Holt and Kingsley, then down a steep and slippery slope to the Caldon Canal. After 5 miles along the muddy towpath we ended the day slipping and sliding by a devious route through Ladderedge Country Park. Photos and fuller report to follow. Tomorrow is our last day! Whatever the weather, we are headed for Mow Cop, and only Rudyard Lake, The Cloud and the mud lie between us and the Castle!

  1. Thinking of you all on your last walk today, waved you off at Ladderedge at 9.10a.m. when it was dry and all were in good spirits buoyed up by the fact that this was the last bit!
Shall be at Mow Cop to meet you later on.

    WELL DONE!
